Frances uses an eclectic mixture of machine embroidery, exotic fabrics and mixed media to create one-off pieces of quirky beauty, wit and complexity. Recently she has concentrated largely on handmade books. The covers are richly decorated while most of the pages are left blank for personal use. The empty pages are an invitation to collaborate with the artist in a new, shared act of creation.
