Louise Bell
Quiltmaker

Louise makes patchwork and appliqué quilts for beds and walls. She uses Liberty lawns for their rich and colourful designs as well as American cottons and silks.

She is happy working to commission so customers can choose quilts in colours of their choice, to Louise's own designs, to traditional patterns as well as to customers own design ideas. She has been a quilt maker for just over twenty years. It is her full time occupation - and has been her only job since University (where she studied French). A visit to her workshop (open Tuesday to Saturday) - with all her fabrics, quilts and photos of previously made quilts to look at, makes planning commissions with customers less daunting than one might expect.
